Terms of service

These terms apply to services supplied by Northwood Forestry Ltd (“we”, “us”) to a client (“you”). They sit alongside any written quotation or contract we agree for a particular job.

Quotations

Quotations are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. A quotation is based on the information available at the time; if the site or scope changes materially we will discuss any variation with you before proceeding.

Booking and payment

Work is confirmed once you accept the quotation in writing. Unless agreed otherwise, invoices are payable within 14 days of the invoice date. We may ask for a deposit on larger contracts or materials orders.

Access and site conditions

You agree to provide safe access to the site and to tell us about any known hazards, protected species, services or restrictions. We will carry out our own risk assessment and may suspend work if conditions are unsafe.

Weather and delays

Forestry work depends on ground and weather conditions. We will keep you informed of delays and rearrange work as soon as it is safe and practical to do so.

Liability

We hold public liability and employer's liability insurance. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law. Otherwise our liability is limited to the value of the contract concerned.

Title and risk

Timber and materials remain our property until paid for in full. Risk in the site and in standing timber passes as set out in the individual contract.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
